The infantile mortality for the year 1911, i.e., deaths under
1 year of age per 1,000 births, is 78 in Hornsey. In 1910 the
infantile mortality rate was 69, and the average rate of the 17
years 1894-1910 was 88, the highest being 133 in 1895, and the
lowest 57 in 1909.
Thus the infantile mortality is again a very favourable one,
though higher than in 1910. Including 1910, on only five occasions
has the infantile mortality been lower than it is this year.
