There are 5 underground bakehouses in the Borough.
Frequent inspections have been made of bakehouses, restaurant
kitchens, places where ice cream is made, and other business
premises concerned in the preparation of food, and, speaking
generally, the conditions found were satisfactory.
Dairies and Milkshops, numbering 74, and 3 Cowsheds in
the Borough, have been frequently inspected.
In 12 instances contravention of the bye-laws or regulations
have been found, and the matters were at once attended to.
The number of premises now on the list for periodical inspection
is 907, as compared with 715 for last year, 705 for 1907,
525 for 1906, 495 for 1905, 412 in 1904, and 152 in 1903.
