The total number of deaths from the principal zymotic diseases
was 46 in 1908, as compared with 44 in 1907, and with a yearly
average of 51 for the ten years preceding 1908.
The death-rate calculated per thousand of the population from these diseases is the Zymotic death-rate, and is shown below in Hornsey and in England and Wales for a number of years:—

It will be seen that the death-rate this year is an extremely
low one, both as regards previous years' rate in Hornsey, and also
when compared with that of the country generally.
