*The Registrar General since 1911 has taken the deaths from Diarrhœa and Enteritis under two years of age.
MEASLES.
Measles was less prevalent than during any of the preceding ten years,
especially in the St. Giles and Bloomsbury Division. We received information
of 75 cases in comparison with 202 in 1912, 101 in 1911, 231 in 1910, 139 in
1909, and 86 in 1908. There were only 7 deaths or a rate of 0.15 per thousand
in comparison with a decennial rate of 0.36. Of these only 1 belonged to
St. Giles and Bloomsbury and 6 to the Holborn District. Seven of the eight
were under 2 years of age.
During the year the Education Department of the London County Council
excluded all the unprotected children from certain classes, in the Infants'
Department, of the undermentioned schools from and up to the dates specified:—
Rosebery Avenue, Class Room A. 6th to 14th February.
St. John-the-Evangelist „ C. 4th to 21st February.
Do. „ A. 7th to 28th „
Princeton Street „ B. 7th to 19th March.
Wild Street „ D 7th to 19th „
