The highest temperature in the shade attained was 92 5° on July 22nd.
The lowest temperature reached was 9 5° on December 26th.
Snow fell in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 17th, 45th, 49th, 51st, and 52nd
weeks of the year.
The almond was in bloom in the first week in April. The pear was in full bloom
in the third week in April, and the elm bursting into leaf. Lilac and horse chestnut in
bloom in first week in May. The hawthorn and laburnum in the third week in May.
Thunder storms occurred on February 5th, April 10th, June 16th, July 15th,
July 26th, July 30th, July 31st, August 1st, November 22nd.
On the evening of October 24th, there was a magnificent display of the "aurora
borealia," and again on the 25th. December 22nd, the day of the solar eclipse, was
a very cold day and snow fell in the forenoon ; the maximum temperature was 27.5°

corresponding with those ueed in my monthly Tables, which alone can serve any useful purpose for
comparison with the accompanying Sicknces and Mortality.
