DEATHS FROM THE DISEASES OF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM.
These diseases, which include Chronic and Acute Bronchitis, Pneumonia,
Pleurisy and Asthma, caused 896 deaths, or 103 less than in 1913. They
represented 181 per cent, of the total deaths registered in the borough.
Acute Bronohitis.— One hundred and thirty-four deaths were ascribed lo
it, of which 54 occurred among males, and 80 among females This is a
decrease of 15 below the return for 1913.
It is to be noted that no less than 42 deaths of infants under 12 months'
old took place, and that 24 deaths occurred in the Public Institutions of the
borough.
