now so needed to replace the shocking wastage of war. It is appalling to think
that practically 20 per cent. of the deaths are of infants under a week old, and
that 33 per cent. had not attained their first month, and very sad to know
that it is so largely due to that maternal want of that knowledge which is so
requisite to enable mothers to rear their children.
