Cheese.—40 samples were examined, but all were found to be genuine.
Lard.—20 samples of lard were submitted to the Public Analyst, who
reported them to be genuine.
Groceries.—182 samples of various articles, as set out below, were
examined under this heading, of which 21 were adulterated, or 115 per cent.,
as contrasted with 7.6 per cent. in the preceding year.

The names of the samples and their analyses are set out in the Table annexed.
