A total of 1,5'29 visits were paid to these during the year, and, generally speaking, they have
been well conducted, although in some three instances the whitewashing required by the law was not
strictly observed, in each case there being a temporary disuse of the premises. In a further
instance a licencee was cautioned for allowing a pony to be accommodated temporarily in the sheep
pound.

It was ascertained that the following number of animals were slaughtered, viz.:—

These were found to be of good quality generally and remarkably free from disease. The
few exceptions where localised affections were dealt with are particularised in Table "A" of this
report.
