Disinfecting Station. — The amount of work done at the Disinfecting
Station was the heaviest on record, for no less than 88,999 large articles were
disinfected, as compared with 83,786 in 1910, (38,8t'0 in 1969, 62,455 in 1908,

that during the last four, a firm who export second-hand garments or
conJemned military uniforms, mostly the latter, have had their goods disinfected
by the Council, on payment for the work, to entitle them to a certificate,
required by foreign or Dominion Governments, that they have been disinfected.
The actual number of garments or other articles, bedding, etc., removed
from the homes of residents, disinfected after exposure to infectious disease
or contamination by vermin was 37,600 as compared with '27,168 in 1910,
