The total number of inspections and calls made were as follows:—

296 intimation notices were served to cover 637 sanitary defects; also 3 statutory and 42
intimation courtesy notices. 248 letters were sent to employers who failed to forward lists of
their outworkers; and 229 workshop cards, specifying the cubic space of the workrooms, were
delivered.
Hotel and. other Kitchens.—At the beginning of the year there were 738 kitchens, with
1,018 workrooms registered. During the period under report 8 workshops with 9 workrooms
have been closed, and 16 workshops with 21 workrooms added to the register. The numbers
now registered therefore are 746 workshops with 1,030 workrooms.
