VACCINATION—OR THE STATE OF PREPAREDNESS TO MEET
SMALL POX.
There can be no doubt that the ability of any community to resist an
invasion of Small Pox, is to be judged mainly by its condition as to vaccination
Facts prove it, statistics show it, and experience teaches it. But for all that
the clamour of the anti-vaccinator is great, and doubtless has its effect on
ignorant, uneducated, thoughtless, and timorous people. In no other way can
the continued fall in the proportion of children vaccinated be accounted for.
