INQUESTS AND MORTUARY.
During the year 609 bodies were received into the Mortuary, as compared
with an average of 660 in the preceding 10 years. This is, with two exceptions,
viz., 563 in 1908, and 592 in 1909, the smallest number recorded in these years.
The daily average number of bodies received into the mortuary was 1.7
as compared with 1.6 in 1909.
In 385 cases inquests were held, as contrasted with an average of 428 in
the years 1900-1909.
