Meteorological.
During 1930 there were no exceptional features, such as very severe
frost, many months of drought and excessive rainfall, which distinguished
1929. It has been described as a year of characteristic British weather.
That is to say, it was a thoroughly wet year. Rainfall was in excess of
the average except during February, June, October and December.
There was a short spell of very warm weather in August, with a shade
maximum of 95° F. on the 28th. June had most sunshine, 219 hours
