Milk (Special Designation) Order.—Under the provisions of this Order
the Council issued licences for the sale of—
Certified Milk 27
Grade A (Tuberculin-tested) 9
Samples for baceteriological examination were taken under the
directions of the Ministry and were reported to be satisfactory. The
demand for this class of milk is steadily increasing.
The Public Health (Milk and Cream) Regulations.—

Samples analysed during the Year 1924.

Cream65Five contained preservative (18.0, 17.5, 13.0, 7.0, and 4-0 grains of boric acid per lb. respectively). The person who sold the cream to the vendor of the first sample was fined £2 and £1 costs. With regard to the 13 grains sample the vendor's roundsman was prosecuted and ordered to pay £1 1s. costs for infringing Article 5 (2). Satisfactory explanations were received in respect of the remaining samples but the vendors were cautioned.

Action taken.
The vendor of the sample containing 35 grains was prosecuted and ordered to pay
£2 2s. costs. No action was taken with regard to the remaining samples.

Infringements under Article 5 (2)—Two. One defendant fined £2 and £1 costs ; the other
ordered to pay £1 Is. costs.
