The number of persons notified voluntarily must decrease as the
system of compulsory notification is extended.
A form has been drafted by the Metropolitan Medical Officers of
Health in conjunction with the County Council's Medical Officers,
whereby statistical information may be prepared on similar lines in each
city and borough. Very little information is obtainable about the
casual and homeless consumptive, and full particulars are not always
obtainable with respect to a number of those notified from private
addresses, for various reasons, such as in the case of persons who have
been in lodgings for short periods only, and do not return on discharge
