Twenty-one bath samples were analysed by the Public Analyst. It is
standard practice to record the number of bathers who have used the bath
prior to the sample being taken and the number of bathers in the pool at the
time of sampling, and the appearance of the water. In seven cases the appearance
was cloudy, but five of these over 100 bathers were using the
bath immediately prior to the time of sampling. In 17 cases the bacterial
count was not more than 5 per million. Free chlorine ranged from 0.5 to 2 parts
per million.
