DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 6,012. Of this number 1,829 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 1,775 rooms in 1919. 3,632 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also carried out during the
year.
551 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 463 in 1919.
Among the total number of disinfections (6,012) it was found
necessary to strip 809 rooms. Of these 654 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, 147 after the termination of cases of Phthisis, and
8 were verminous.
