DISINFECTION.
The total number of rooms treated during the year by the Council's
disinfecting staff was 6,587. Of this number 1,252 rooms were disinfected
after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious diseases, as
against 1,105 rooms in 1910. 4,039 rooms were periodically sprayed and
otherwise treated in connection with cases of Phthisis notified voluntarily
or under the Tuberculosis Regulations of 1908 and 1911.
1,296 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 1,576 in 1910.
Of the total number of rooms disinfected (6,587) it was found
necessary to strip 903 rooms. Of these 598 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, 301 after the termination of cases of Phthisis, and
4 were verminous.
