TYPHUS FEYER.
No death occurred from this disease during the year, and no case
was notified.
Infantile Diseases Notified from the Schools.
Notifications under Form 84 by School Officers.
The following numbers were received, viz-:—
Whooping Cough 361, Measles 1274, Mumps 370, Chicken-pox 442,
Diphtheria 223, Scarlet Fever 389, Enteric Fever 17, German Measles
21, Cerebro-spinal Fever 3, Sore Throat 7, Scabies 86, Impetigo 27,
Eczema 35, Ringworm 206, Conjunctivitis 28, Purulent Ophthalmia 101,
and Erys'pelas 22.
Health Work and Notification of Births Act. 1907.
From the commencement of June up to the end of the year Miss
Wilkinson carried out the duty of visiting houses in the borough from
which births had been notified, giving advice, and, where necessary,
leaving printed instructions as to the care and feeding of infants, &c.
During the seven months, the inspector made 1,403 original visits and
1,320 revisits in connection with births She also made 54 visits in
relation to cases of Ophthalmia and other infantile diseases.
