BIRTHS.
The number of Births registered in the Borough during 1910 was
5,627, of which 2,805 were males, and 2,822 females. This represents a
birth-rate of 266 per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of births registered, belonging to the individual parishes
was as follows:—Newington, 3,381; St. George the Martyr, 1,689;
Christchurch, 259; and St. Saviour's, 298.
In addition to these 5,627 births registered in the Borough I learn
from the Registrar General that there were 246 births during the year in
various Lying-in and other institutions outside the Borough belonging to
