the same time as the infested portion of the structure is being treated with
sulphur dioxide subsequent to his workmen removing woodwork, etc.
The general scheme of disinfestation may be varied or modified from
time to time to meet particular circumstances, or to take advantage of
more efficient methods.
Fumigation by Hydrogen Cyanide and Co-operation with the Housing
Committee.
In view of the reference in the Ministry of Health's Memorandum to
the transfer of tenants from bug-infested premises, the Housing Committee
has arranged with a fumigation company for the furniture of persons from
bug-infested slum properties to be treated with HCN prior to transfer
to the new accommodation. At the same time it was agreed that the
bedding should be removed for steam disinfection and returned direct to
the new premises.
The Housing Committee have also considered the possibility of
treating some, but not necessarily with hydrogen cyanide vacated slum
properties which have been acquired for demolition by the Council.
