On account of difficulties which we experienced during the latter
part of 1933 with the boiler, the Committee resolved to modernise the
Disinfecting Station, Cleansing Station, Smallpox Shelter and Resident
Caretaker's accommodation. By arrangement with the Electricity
Committee a site was obtained in Glaucus Street. Plans were prepared
and submitted to the Ministry of Health and London County Council.
