Notes.—(a) In 1920, 49 tins of condensed milk were also issued;
(b) the Enquiry and Investigation Officer commenced duty in March,
1921; (c) by Circular 185, dated 31st March, 1921, children between
the ages of 3 and 5 years are only allowed milk upon a special
medical certificate.
Nutritional Anaemia, Rickets, etc.
In 1932 the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee considered the
Ministry of Health Circular No. 1290, which was issued in October, 1932,
and after a report from the Medical Officer of Health recommended the
Council to supply special dried milk containing iron (or iron solution in
addition to Grade "A" Tuberculin Tested Milk) in cases which were
specially recommended by the Clinic medical officers. The Committee
also approved of the supply of cod liver oil in 40Z. bottles to recipients of
free milk on the recommendation of Clinic medical officers.
The issue of iron solution and cod liver oil commenced 6th February,
1933.
