The 9 patients suffering from after-effects (excluding those in institutions) were affected as follows:-

Acute Polio-Encephalitis.
Two cases of Acute Polio-Encephalitis were notified and
treated in hospital. The other was treated as an out-patient.
Post-Vaccinal Encephalitis, etc.
No case of Post-Vaccinal infection was reported.
Measles.
1,574 cases of Measles were reported to the Medical
from various sources (principally from L.C.C. schools). 31 deaths
attributed to Measles.
During the year 264 cases of measles were admitted to Hospitals
from the Borough .

Pneumonia.
352 cases of Acute Primary Pneumonia and 26 cases of Acute Influezal
Pneumonia were notified during the year, 131 of the patient being treated
in hospitals. 87 notified patients died-8o Acute Primary Pneumonia
and 7 Acute Influenzal Pneumonia.
