Of the 437 samples of milk, 75 were procured on Sundays from itinerant
vendors and 110 from itinerant vendors on weekdays. Five samples
purchased from itinerant vendors were not in accordance with the legal
standard and proceedings were instituted in two cases, letters of caution
being sent in the remaining three.
Samples were taken on delivery as follows:—Poplar Institution, 5;
St. Andrew's Hospital, 5; Railway Stations, 12; and at canteens of
firms in the Borough, 2. In addition two samples were taken on delivery
at a dairy by request. All the samples were genuine.
