METEOROLOGY.
The principal meteorological elements for the year are given in Table 1, which is compiled
from observations taken at the Royal Botanical Gardens and published each year in
"The Times." Last year may be described as a colourless one from a meteorological point
of view, being characterised by an absence of any sensational records. Impressions of an
open winter and a cheerless summer are supported by the data contained in the Table. The
highest temperature registered was only 82° and the total amount of sunshine (1,249.3 hours)
the lowest recorded in the five years 1906-10.
