24 TUBERCULOUS DISEASES.
Last year 210 persons were made known to the Department as consumptive patients,
tuberculosis being subsequently diagnosed in 173, 26 of the patients being suspected to have
" consumption," one other was found to have the disease in a form other than the pulmonary,
and 146 were pronounced to be " consumptive." The ages of t!ie last (85 of whom were

The 146 consumptive patients belonged to 141 families, records of whose home surroundings
were recorded in all cases save 2. An analysis of the housing, as regards tenements of less
than 5 rooms (132), is given on the next page.
