Emphasis is placed on children being cleansed by parents at home. Other members
of the family may, in the privacy that the home affords, also use the Lorexane shampoo
hence eradicating a possible source to a child, of recurring infestation.
Dental Services
An efficient and comprehensive school dental service calls for a high standard of
organisation. The co-operation of head teachers and of staff in the health department
is vital.
Attendance at the four dental centres has improved during the year and the establishment
of dental staff has been increased in relation to the school population and the
known need for treatment.
A modest scheme has been started to provide transport for children at primary
and junior schools which are not particularly close to a dental centre and where
access by public transport is not easy. This arrangement has proved most successful.
