DISTRICT NURSING STAFF, TRAINING AND POST GRADUATE COURSES
The number of district nurses operating within the borough at 31st December was
as follows:
1 Superintendent
1 Assistant Superintendent
40 District Trained Nurses (including 11 men)
4 District Trained Nurses part-time
9 State Registered Nurses
6 State Registered Nurses part-time
2 State Enrolled Nurses
1 State Enrolled Nurse part-time
and at the Nursing Sisters of St. John the Divine
2 District Trained Nursing Sisters
2 part-time State Registered Nurses
1 Nursing Auxiliary
Three District Nursing Sisters completed their district training during the year and
obtained the National Certificate for District Nursing.
Six District Nurses attended a week's post graduate course held by the Queen's
Institute of District Nursing.
DISTRICT NURSES' TRANSPORT
Most of the full-time staff make use of motorised transport. At the present time
28 full-time staff have cars, 10 have scooters and the remaining 13 of the full-time
staff use bicycles or public transport.
