Commenting on the year's work, Dr. J. M. Morgan, director of
the South East London mass x-ray service, states "Out of the total
of 4,294 examinations during the year, 865 were examined during the
Downham survey and three cases were found, giving an incidence of
3.4 per thousand. The other case was found at Grove Park Hospital,
during which survey 34 people were examined.
Most of the surveys in 1961 were only small routine surveys, and
no large scale public visits were done. Apart from regular six-monthly
visits to Lewisham, Romer Avenue, and Catford Town Hall, and to
Messrs. Elliotts, the other surveys took place at Glennifer Laundry,
Chiltonian Ltd., Whitbread and Messrs. Robertsons ; Hither Green
and Grove Park Hospitals ; and the Crofton Park and Downham
public surveys."
