In his report upon repair work under the Housing Acts during 1953,
Mr. Craven, the group housing inspector, states :—
"Following the trend reported last year there was again an
increase in the number of properties referred to the department
subsequent to the Housing (Management) committee's decisions to
derequisition on grounds of disrepair. The majority of these cases
