Unsound food
A considerable amount of food was surrendered as unfit for human
consumption. In all, approximately 25 tons 12 cwts. of foodstuffs was
dealt with by the Council's food inspectors, consisting mainly of meat,
fruit pulp, fish, etc.
In co-operation with the Salvage Division of the Ministry of Food,
in order to prevent wastage where possible, most of this unsound food
was forwarded to the appropriate authorities for reconditioning or
animal feeding.

A report on meat inspection in the following form is included in
the annual report to comply with the provisions of Ministry of Health
circular 3/49.
