Midwives.
The London County Council supplied the information that 42
midwives residing in the Borough gave notice of their intention to
practice during 1934.
Infant Life Protection.
The number of foster-mothers on the Register at the end of the
year was 136, and the children in their care numbered 175.
The officer charged with supervising the welfare of these infants
made 2,274 visits to their homes during the year.
Four nurse-children died, an inquest being held in one case.
Laboratory Facilities.
Food and Drugs.—The Public Analyst is Mr. A. J. Lickorish,
F.I.C. Details of the analyses carried out during the year will be
found in the section of the Report dealing with inspection and
supervision of food.
