The number of deaths of Lewisham residents registered in 1933
was 2,271, and the death rate was 10.2 per 1,000 persons.

Deaths in Public Institutions.
The deaths occurring in Hospitals and other Public Institutions
in the Borough numbered 1,160, of which 769 were residents, and
307 residents died in Institutions outside the Borough.
Infant Mortality.
The number of infants who died before reaching one year of age was 107, and the infant mortality is therefore 39 per 1,000 births. The following table shows the infant mortality for the last ten years, and a comparison with the County of London:—
