The sex incidence of the infants was as follows:—
Males, 159 ; Females, 150 ... Total, 309.
The average length and weight of the full-term infants
were as follow :—
Males Length, 22.5 inches. Weight, 7 lbs. 4ozs.
Females 21.4 „ „ 7 lbs. 2ozs.
All the infants were entirely breast-fed, with the exception
of eleven; of these, five required complementary and six supplementary
feeds.
One case of Eclampsia made an uninterrupted recovery.
One case developed Pelvic Peritonitis after confinement,
and was removed to the North Western Hospital, Hampstead,
from which she was discharged well.
Three of the infants had congenital defects, viz: —
1. Hypospadius. 2. Congenital Heart.
3. Congenital Talipes Equino-varus.
Nurses' Quarters.—During the year the Council acquired
the premises No. 1, Honley Road, Catford, for the purpose
of providing sleeping quarters for some of the members of
the stafi.
The accommodation consists of four nurses' bedrooms, two
maids' bedrooms, and two rooms for the woman caretaker.
This arrangement has been found to work quite satisfactorily,
and has been much appreciated by the Nursing Staff.
