per 1,000. South Ward was least affected, having an attack
rate of 0.89 per 1,000.
Case Mortality.—Thirty.five deaths occurred from this
disease, equal to 8.66 per cent. of the cases notified, compared
with 6.20 per cent, in 1912.
ENTERIC or TYPHOID FEVER..Thirty .four cases
were notified, 29 of which were removed to Hospital. Two
cases were returned home as not suffering, giving a corrected
total of 32, an increase of 7 on the previous year.
The attack rate for the whole Borough was 0.17 per 1,000,
compared with 0.15 in 1912.
The case mortality equalled 25 per cent., against 32
per cent. in 1912.
ERYSIPELAS.—84 cases of Erysipelas were notified,
compared with 102 in the preceding year. Sixteen cases
were removed to the Lewisham Infirmary and other Institutions
for treatment. Five of the cases proved fatal.
PUERPERAL FEYER.—Three cases of Puerperal fever
were notified.
OPHTHALMIA NEONATORUM.—Eleven cases of
Ophthalmia Neonatorum occurred during the year, compared
with five for the previous year. One of the cases was removed
to hospital for treatment.
POLIO.MYELITIS or POLIO.ENCEPHALITIS.—Five
cases of this disease occurred during the year, compared with
two for the year 1912.
