Measles was certified to be the cause of eight deaths,
considerably less than in 1911, when nineteen deaths occurred.
Scarlet Fever was the cause of six deaths.
Whooping Cough.—Twenty-three deaths were caused
by this disease, thirteen of the victims being under one
year of age.
Diphtheria was the cause of twenty-six deaths, one
less than in 1911.
Diarrhoea and Enteritis.—Twenty children under the
age of two years died from these diseases, compared with 108
in the preceding year. We have to thank the exceedingly wet
summer for this very small mortality.
