Drainage Work
1,500 tests were carried out on existing drainage and 189 drains were
exposed for examination.
409 plans for alterations to drainage in existing premises and 153 for new
buildings were received and examined. 1,385 tests were applied to new drainage
works.
FOOD HYGIENE
Imported Food
An increased amount and variety of imported food was received in the
Borough without having been inspected at the port of entry. Products proved
mainly satisfactory on sampling, unsatisfactory consignment being normally
returned to the Country of origin.

Bacteriological and other examinations
162 samples of milk were submitted to the Public Health Laboratory, of
these 23 were void, the atmospheric shade temperature being above 65°F, 2
failed the Methylene Blue Test and one failed the Phosphatese Test.
