Smallpox
No case of this disease occurred in the Borough during the
year.
There are, however, no grounds for complacency, A large
section of the community remains unvaccinated and therefore
unprotected against the disease, With the speed of air travel it
is likely that smallpox could be introduced to the country from
those areas in which it is prevalent. It is desirable, therefore,
that as many as possible should be protected, and this can only
be done by vaccination.
Any propoganda which furthers this aim is well worth while,
