pursuance of their powers under the above Acts carried out works in default to a total
cost of £2,756 0s. 5d. during the period under review.

An appeal to the Quarter Sessions against the decision of the Local Petty Sessions
that the owner should pay £300 towards the cost incurred by the Borough Council in repairing
drains at 41 Wray Crescent following the service of a Notice in accordance with the terms of
Section 40 of the Public Health (London) Act, 1936, was heard on 17th December, 1959 The
respective parties were represented by Counsel.
The decision of the Court was to the effect that the owner should pay the Borough Council
the sum of £250 plus 15 guineas costs.
