Cowsheds.—Only one cowshed is now within the Borough and it received 10
visits by the Inspector, who found it to be in a satisfactory condition.
Offensive Trades include 4 tripe dressers, 2 gut scrapers, 1 fat melter and
gut schaper; and the knackers' yard which received a total of 64 visits. The
Inspector reports that he found no cause for complaint in the conduct of the
business carried on in them.

Milkshops and Dairies.—At the close of the year there were 540 milkshops
and dairies on the register, 52 having been added to it, while 8 were
removed. The District Sanitary Inspectors paid 900 visits to them, and served
12 notices for the carrying out of various sanitary improvements and the cleansing
of dirty utensils.

OF HEALTH UNDER THE PUBLIC HEALTH (MILK AND CREAM)
REGULATIONS, 1912 and 1917.
During the past year (1927) samples of Milk, Cream and Preserved Cream
have been obtained to ascertain the extent to which the provisions of the Regulations
are being carried out by the vendors.
