Part VIII of the Act
Outworkers
Section 110 of the Factories Act, 1937, requires that where, in certain specified
industries, work is given by an employer or contractor to be done by workers outside his
factory, lists containing the names and addresses of such workers must be forwarded
to the Local Authority. Section 111 has the object of preventing such work being carried
out in premises which are insanitary or in which infectious disease is present.
The following table gives the number and type of such premises in the Borough, and the nature of the work carried out:—
