Tuberculosis Notifications.
Excluding duplicates the total number of notifications received on Form A
or B during the year 1934 was 73; 16 other cases were brought to my knowledge
(making 89 new cases in the year). These were:—Private cases 18, hospital
cases 39, Public Assistance cases 20, from death returns 5, transfer from other
districts 7.
Of the 89 cases entered on the Register in 1934, 83 were pulmonary tuberculosis
and 6 non-pulmonary tuberculosis. Sixty-four of the cases were removed
for treatment to hospitals, sanatoria, &c.
Sleeping Conditions.
In 64 of the 89 new cases of tuberculosis in 1934 it was possible to obtain
information as to the sleeping conditions at the date of notification.
