The figures on which the rates given in the Registrar-General's Quarterly
Reports are based are necessarily only partly corrected; the final correction
including the transference of births in institutions to the residential area of the
parents is made before the publication of the Registrar-General's Annual Report.
Deaths in Public Institutions.
Of the total number of 440 deaths, 322 died in hospitals and public institutions
either within or without the Borough.
General Provision of Health Services in the Borough.
In the Annual Report for 1930 detailed information was given as to the health
services provided in the Borough. In addition to the arrangements set out therein,
and in subsequent reports, the following may be noted: —

* These figures, as published in the Registrar-General's Quarterly Returns for 1934, are
for the 52 weeks ended 29th December, 1934; the complete corrections for the year 1934
increase the number of deaths to 440 and the rate to 12•2 per 1,000. The corresponding
rate for London was 11•9.
