the three the diagnosis was not confirmed and the patients were returned to their
homes.
During the same period information was received of the occurence of this
disease in four non-resident workers.
The steps taken to prevent the spread of the disease were similar to those set
out in the 1929 Annual Report as the routine procedure in smallpox cases.
In the County of London 1,452 cases were notified, a notification rate of 033
per 1,000.

During the same period 152 births were transferred to Holborn of children
born in various institutions outside the Borough, Holborn being the district of
the usual or last known home address of the mothers. Of the 152, at the date of
the preparation of this report, 62 (41 per cent.) were known to be vaccinated.
