Special Schools
The Charlton Park School, which also has a boarding home for
handicapped pupils, had 166 children on roll. The School Medical
Officer continued her weekly attendance. Orthopaedic, Ophthalmic
and Cardiological Consultants also visited the school at regular
intervals. Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy Classes were held
daily.

Speech Therapy
The London Borough of Greenwich had the services of a fulltime
equivalent of 2.9 Speech Therapists provided by the Inner
London Education Authority. It was necessary to maintain a small
list of children waiting to receive treatment.
Prophylaxis
The high protective state of Greenwich schoolchildren persists
and compares very favourably with other Inner London Boroughs.
