In addition, the Community Worker from the Greenwich Community
Project gave a very interesting report on the first six months
of his work for the project on an estate in the Borough.
Greenwich Community Project
Arising from the deliberations of the Social Services Co-ordinating
Committee in 1968 and launched during November 1969, this
project produced a very busy year. Appointing a Community
Worker to an estate in the area resulted in the formation of a group
of mothers to staff a "play scheme" in the summer holidays and
this was felt to be so successful that, in 1971, it is to be repeated.
It is hoped that by 1971, or perhaps 1972, an adventure playground
will be established on Plumstead Common.
