*Deaths from all causes of Tuberculous patients on register.
The number of cases on the Tuberculosis register does not
diminish and has remained about 1,000 for many years. There is
now a very great tendency not to discharge patients after 5 years but
to advise them to continue to come for an annual check-up, and this
although very much to the benefit of the patient does keep up the
numbers on the register.
The new notifications in 1955 totalling 91 were 8 less than in the
previous year. The age and sex distribution of these 91 new notifications
was as follows :—
