The total number of live births belonging to the Borough was
619 including 37 illegitimate births and consisting of 336 males and
283 females, giving a rate of 17.3 per 1,000 civilian population. The
birth rate for England and Wales was 15.8 per 1,000 total population
and 17.8 per 1,000 civilian population.
Stillbirths.
The total number of stillbirths allocated to the Borough during
the year was 10. This figure represents 1.6 per cent, of the total
births. Expressed as a proportion of the population the figures are
0.28 per 1,000 civilian population for Finsbury as against 0.36 for
the Administrative County of London and 0.37 for England and
Wales (total population).
